Lindsey (Smith) Wagner is in her second season as an assistant coach with the Kutztown University women's volleyball team in 2023.
One of the best defensive players in KU history, Wagner (formerly Smith) finished her collegiate career with 1,551 digs and was named 2011 PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Year. Wagner ranked third among Golden Bears all-time in digs upon her graduation and currently ranks fifth. Her 137 career service aces are the fourth most in team history.
Wagner, originally from Hanover, Pa., set a career-high with 631 digs as a senior in 2011. It marked the second-highest dig total in a season in program history and second most in the PSAC that season. Wagner helped Kutztown to 24 victories in 2011, its most since a program-record 28 in 2007. In addition to being lauded as the conference's top defensive player in 2011, the libero was also an All-PSAC East First Team selection.
Wagner won the KU Volleyball Coach's Award in 2009 and was the recipient of the Shannon Sullivan Memorial Scholarship in 2011. She was also a member of KU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
A 2012 graduate of Kutztown with a degree in sport and fitness administration/management, Wagner currently works for Penn State Health St. Joseph as a physical therapist assistant. She served as the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach for Wilson (West Lawn) High School from 2014-17.
