Kendel Dixon enters his third year on the Kutztown track and field coaching staff in 2014-15. He coaches the sprinters, and brings impressive credentials to the table.
Â
While at Kutztown, Dixon has coached an All-PSAC relay team in the men's 4x100, and the school-record-holding women's 4x100 team.
Â
Dixon graduated from Kutztown in 2010. During his time at Kutztown, he was a member of three All-PSAC 4x400 meter relays. Indoors, he ran a national provisionally-qualifying time of 49.13 in the 400 meter run, which was good enough for fourth on KU’s all-time list, and 22.54 for the 200 meter, which ranked ninth on KU’s all-time list. Outdoors, he again took the No. 4 spot on the KU all-time list with his provisional mark of 47.95.Â
After graduation, Dixon put his bachelor’s degree in leisure and sport studies to good use, assisting the Octorara High School track and field teams in the sprints and coaching the girl’s 4x100 meter relay to a sixth place finish at states. During that time, he also privately coached Division I and II-recruited athletes in their speed and agility and obtained a USATF Level 1 Certification in Coaching.
