Fred Dukes IV returns to Kutztown University as an assistant coach for the 2025–26 season, bringing a strong blend of playing experience, player development expertise, and a passion for mentorship. A proud Kutztown alumnus, Dukes rejoins the Golden Bears after serving as an assistant coach at Pottstown High School, where he played a key role in developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
A native of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Dukes competed for Kutztown from 2013–2015, appearing in 45 games during his collegiate career. Known for his toughness and team-first mentality, he contributed to a Golden Bears squad that advanced to the PSAC semifinals in 2015. He recorded a career-high 18 points against West Chester on February 8, 2014.
Following his playing career, Dukes began his coaching journey at Kutztown as a student assistant under head coach Bernie Driscoll during the 2015–16 season. That year, the Golden Bears posted a 23–7 record and advanced to the NCAA Division II Sweet 16, further shaping Dukes’ foundation in championship-level basketball.
Dukes has since built a reputation for his ability to develop players, connect with student-athletes, and contribute to a winning culture. His coaching philosophy emphasizes discipline, accountability, and growth—preparing players for success both on the court and in life."
Dukes is a 2016 Kutztown graduate with a degree in leisure and sport studies (now sport management).
