Matt Cella is in his third season as an assistant coach with the Kutztown University football program in 2024.
Following a four-year career on the offensive line for KU, Cella returned to the program in 2022 after two years as a graduate assistant, coaching the defensive line and was the video coordinator. He led a defensive line unit that finished the 2021 season ranked third in the PSAC in sacks with 34, on its way to a PSAC title.
Cella coached All-PSACÂ First Team defensive tackle Ryan Meyers, who finished second on the team with 10 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.
Following his senior season in 2019, Cella was voted to the D2CCA All-Super Region I First Team, Don Hansen All-Super Region I First Team, Don Hansen Honorable Mention All-America, First Team All-PSAC and was a team captain.
A 2020 graduate of Kutztown, Cella earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
