John Venditti enters his fifth season as the running backs coach at Kutztown University in 2026.
Venditti has overseen one of the conference's top rushing attacks since his arrival, helping Kutztown to three consecutive PSAC championships and NCAA playoff appearances, two Super Region 1 titles and trips to the NCAA Division II semifinals in 2023 and 2025.
Over his first four seasons with the Maroon and Gold, Venditti coached six All-PSAC East selections. Under his guidance, Darryl Davis-McNeil became Kutztown's second all-time leading rusher with 2,743 yards and 30 rushing touchdowns. Davis-McNeil produced his first career 1,000-yard rushing season in 2022 (1,013) and ran for a career-high 13 TDs. He followed up with 911 yards and nine TDs in 2023.
The dynamic duo of Steven Burkhardt and Jaedyn Stewart continue to climb the program's career rushing list under Venditti's watch. Burkhardt broke out in 2025 with a career-best 1,106 yards and 14 total TDs (9 rushing, 5 receiving), while Stewart tied for the team-high with 11 rushing TDs.
Prior to Kutztown, Venditti spent two seasons at his alma mater, Albright College, where he coached running backs after previously working with the defensive backs and special teams. He was the defensive coordinator for the program's junior varsity team and also served as video coordinator. Venditti spent two seasons at St. John Fisher University, where he coached the running backs and served as the as the junior varsity offensive coordinator and co-video coordinator.
Venditti began his collegiate coaching career at The College of New Jersey, coaching the Lions' running backs from 2013–2016 while also working with the program's specialists.
Venditti was a kicker and four-year member of the Albright football program. In 2009, the Lions set a school record for wins in a single-season (11) and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communication with a journalism/broadcasting track from Albright in 2010.
Venditti currently resides in Leesport, Pa., with his wife, Brandy, and their son, JJ.
