Dr. Scott Glenn

Dr. Scott Glenn is in his first year as a member of the Kutztown University coaching staff. He will work with the linebackers this season.

 

A native of Pottstown, Dr. Glenn was a three sport standout in track, basketball, and football at Pottstown High School where he was an all-state performer. Dr. Glenn was a two-time first team all-Chest-Mont League running back, District One first team player and all-star, and Montgomery County’s Most Valuable Player in the 1984 All-Star Game. Dr. Glenn attended West Virginia University Institute of Technology where he majored in History and Government. During his tenure at Tech, Dr. Glenn earned Who's Who in America nominations and was a two-time All-American, two-time league leading rusher and two-time first team All-League selection as a running back. Dr. Glenn is currently West Virginia Tech all-time’s leading rusher.

 

In 1993, Dr. Glenn enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a stellar M1A1 Tank Commander and was meritoriously promoted. During Dr. Glenn's tenure in the Marines, he was named “Marine of The Year” and power lifting Champion of the Camp Lejuene 2 nd Tnk BN in North Carolina. His tour in the Corps included Operation Able Vigil (Cuban Refugee Crises) and Operation Uphold Democracy (Port Au Prince Haiti Crises).

 

In 1999, Dr. Glenn served as an assistant football coach at Unionville High school. From 1999-2001, he mentored the running backs, defensive backs, served as defensive and offensive coordinator, and coached in the Delaware County All-Star Game. In 2002, Dr. Glenn was selected as Chester County's first high school African American Head Football Coach. In his first year as Head Coach at Unionville he turned the program around from 2-19 to a 4-3 record in league play and best record in several years. Glenn also holds a couple of team offensive records as a head coach in the Valor Bowl (Chester County All-Star Game)

 

Dr. Glenn also coached under Head Coach E.J. Sandusky (Penn State) at Albright College from 2004-2006 putting his experience to work in several areas as he has served as running backs coach, defensive backs coach, and special teams' coordinator at various points over a 3 year period. In addition, Dr. Glenn was the defensive coordinator for Pottstown High School for the 2007-2008 school year.

 

Dr. Glenn has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Government, MBA in Business and Marketing, and is a Dr. of Education. Dr. Glenn currently works at the Concern Treatment Center in Coatesville in the educational administration department and is a University of Phoenix Site Supervisor.

 

He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association, the Marine Corps League, and member of Calvary Fellowship in Downingtown, PA.  Dr. Glenn also a published author for the AFCA: Adding Motivation to Coaching Concepts Can Be Self Contagious, and a doctoral dissertation titled, An Ethnographic Study of Barriers to Leadership of Black Administrators in Higher Education, and Adding Motivation To Coaching Concepts Can Be Self-Contagious, American Football Coaches Association (2006). Dr. Glenn Has various articles written such as, PENNSYLVANIA FOOTBALL: AN AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL TRADITION FEATURING THE RIDLEY RAIDERS. Dr. is in the process of writing a book entitled the Triangle Plan which discusses American Morals and Values and equality in America. Dr. Glenn currently resides in Coatesville, PA and is married to the former Rose Butler of Pottstown.
