Chris Bantell completed his second season as an assistant football coach at Kutztown University in 2018, where he's responsible for overseeing the safeties.
Bantell coached two All-PSAC safeties during his time with the Golden Bears. The KU defense posted its best year in the modern era in rushing defense in 2017, holding opponents to 86.7 yards per game. KU limited its opposition to 19.5 points per game, the best mark for the program since 1996, and less than 200 passing yards per game for the first time in 10 years.

Bantell came to Kutztown in 2017 after one year as an assistant at Misericordia University, where he coached defensive backs. Previously, he spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Wilkes University, working with the safeties and special teams units.

A 2009 graduate of West Chester University, Bantell also spent two seasons as a defensive backs coach at his alma mater and served as a graduate assistant at Widener University, where he coached linebackers and defensive backs.
Bantell and wife, Ashley, have two sons, Carter and Cullen.
