Portia Durden joined the Kutztown University acrobatics & tumbling staff as a graduate assistant coach in 2023.
Durden helped the Golden Bears to a pair of winning seasons as a member of Karah Paull's staff. Kutztown set numerous meet, heat and event record scores and qualified its acro 5-element squad for the 2024 NCATA Event Finals.
A four-year member of the acrobatics & tumbling team at Davis & Elkins College from 2019-22, Durden competed as a top and tumbler. She was named to the All-Mountain East Conference Second Team as a senior.
The NCATA twice named Durden to its Academic Honor Roll, first in 2021 and again in 2022. Durden was also a multi-time MEC Academic All-Conference selection along with being recognized on the MEC Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2020-21.
A native of Miramar, Fla., Durden graduated from Davis & Elkins in 2022. She is pursuing her master's in school counseling at KU.
