2018-19: 2-2 at the PSAC Championships for sixth place at 165 (12/8)...Won a tech. fall in 5:47 over Seton Hill (12/1)...4-3 win by decision over Pitt-Johnstown's fifth-ranked 165-pounder (11/20)...3-1 at the ESU Open (11/10).
2017-18: O'Brien had his second straight winning season, finishing his sophomore year 11-7 overall and 8-4 in dual matches at 157...Ended the season winning eight of his last 10 matches overall...Won a match at regionals at 157, a 15-8 decision over Seth Decker of Millersville (2/24)...Ranked No. 8 in the region on a team-high seven-match winning streak entering regionals (2/16)...Won a 12-5 decision over Millersville (2/9)...10-6 decision on the road at ESU (2/2)...Went 3-0 at the KU Duals (1/27)...Moved up to seventh in the region at 157 following Mercyhurst match (1/18)...Defeated Mercyhurst's Owen Watkins, ranked third in the region, by an 11-4 decision in a dual meet (1/13)...Ranked eighth in SR1 at 157 heading into the National Duals (1/3)...Won a match and placed fifth at 157 at the PSAC Championships (12/9).
2016-17: O'Brien went 10-8 as a true freshman. He wrestled at both 141 and 149 pounds, highlighted by a 10-5 record at 141, which is where he wrestled at regionals for KU. He pinned four opponents and won three matches by major decision...Finished 4-2 at the Super Region I Championships and placed fifth overall in the 141 weight class (2/25)...Notched a 5-3 decision in a win over Shippensburg (2/9)...Recorded an 8-0 major decision against Mercyhurst (2/3)...Went 2-0 at the KU Duals at 141, including one by pinfall in 2:05 (1/21)...Won a 17-3 major decision at the Virginia Duals (1/13).
