Abington: O'Brien played an integral role in Abington winning its second district title in three years this past season. He was named All-League not only in basketball, but in football as a two-way starter at tight end and defensive end. He started his high school career at Roman Catholic in Center City Philadelphia, but transferred back to Abington following an injury his sophomore year. He went on to be selected to play in the Philadelphia All Star Labor Classic basketball game at Philadelphia University earlier this year.

From the Coach: "Joseph is an outstanding addition to our team and will give us a strong post presence both on the offensive and defensive end of the court. Joseph is an outstanding two-sport athlete who will fit in extremely well at KU."
