KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University announced the promotion of Glen McCartney to head women's golf coach, Monday.
 
McCartney served nine seasons as an assistant coach under Robert Fisher, who recently retired following a distinguished 25-year career leading the women's golf and men's wrestling programs.
 
In 2017-18, his first season on staff, McCartney helped the Golden Bears capture their first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship in program history. Kutztown has finished top five in the team standings at the PSAC Championship six times during McCartney's tenure, including each of the last three seasons. KU's third place finish this past April was its highest since winning the PSAC title in the fall of 2017.
 
McCartney has coached eight All-PSAC honorees and mentored some of the top players in program history. Three-time all-conference selection and rising senior Brooke Graham (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) holds three of KU's top five single-season scoring averages and enters the 2026-27 season atop the program's career scoring average list (79.86).
 
"The opportunity to lead the Golden Bear women's golf program means a great deal to me," McCartney said. "I'm grateful to the Kutztown athletic department for their confidence in me. It is a privilege to coach this team and a responsibility I embrace with enthusiasm."
 
McCartney has been a member of the Professional Golf Teachers Association of America since 2013.
 
Kutztown is scheduled to begin its 2026-27 season at the Albright-Northampton Cup Tuesday, Sept. 1.
