SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Third-ranked Kutztown University football ran for five touchdowns and scored the first 45 points in a dominant 59-7 PSAC East victory over Shippensburg at Seth Grove Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bears scored TDs on their first three possessions and got points on 8-of-11 possessions in putting up their sixth 50+ point performance since the start of last season.

Luke Maxwell (Estell Manor, N.J./Delsea Regional) carried four times for 12 yards, but three of those runs ended in the end zone. The senior from Estell Manor, N.J., opened the scoring with a 1-yaard TD run on Kutztown's (5-0, 2-0 PSAC East) first possession and added TD runs of 1-yard (second quarter) and 9 yards (fourth quarter).
Noah Kracyla (Townsend, Del./Middletown)Â added a 17-yard TD run late in the first and
Rocco DeBiaso (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) capped the scoring with his first career TD from 1-yard out with 2:06 remaining to account for the Bears' season-high five rushing scores.

Kutztown's defense was in fine form, forcing punts on Shippensburg's (1-4, 0-2 PSAC East) first seven possessions. The Raiders only drove into Golden Bear territory three times and past the Kutztown 46-yard line once, on their lone scoring drive early in the fourth.

Judd Novak (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) threw for 243 yards while completing 17-of-22 passes on what was a methodical afternoon. He found
Benny Liles III (Woolwich Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) for a 10-yard scoring strike in the final minute of the second to make it 28-0 at the half. The TD reception was the first of Liles III's career.

Jaimen Bryant (Somerville, N.J./Somerville) burned his former team for a career-high 107 yards on three catches, including a long reception of 42 yards. Bryant enjoyed his first career 100+ yard receiving day.

Ty'renne Hynson (Middletown, Del./Middletown)Â caught four passes for 62 yards, including a 24-yard TD pass from
Jacob Zamot (Millville, N.J./Millville) in the third quarter.

Kutztown's special teams also got in on the fun with
Noah Micks (Newark, Del./Salesianum) answering Shippensburg's only score by returning the ensuing kickoff 93 yards for a TD to make it 52-7 with 8:30 to go in the fourth.
Peter Fiorello (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg)Â converted a 30-yard field goal attempt on the opening drive of the third.

The Golden Bears extended their winning streak over the Raiders to seven games dating back to the 2018 season. KU has outscored Shippensburg a combined 139-9 in the last three meetings and put up its highest scoring output since defeating Millersville, 62-10, on the road Nov. 3, 2018.

The Maroon and Gold outgained Ship 464-227, throwing for 267 and rushing for 197.
Craig Miller (Bear, Del./Caravel Academy) led the ground game with nine carries for 66 yards,
Brady Collins (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) added 50 yards on five totes and
Jaedyn Stewart (Newfield, N.J./Delsea Regional) ran nine times for 41 yards.
Tyrell Ford (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) and
LJ Smith (Newark, Del./Salesianum)Â paced the defense with six tackles apiece.
Freddie Retter (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) had three tackles, 1.5 sacks and an astounding seven quarterback hurries.
Joey Quinter (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) added a sack and
Eden Johnson (Philadelphia, Pa./Governor Mifflin)Â had five tackles (1.0 TFL), contributed to a sack and broke up a pass. Kutztown had 11 QB hurries and seven pass breakups overall.

The Golden Bears will host Lackawanna in a non-conference game next Saturday, Oct. 10, at noon.

The Falcons are currently applying for full membership into NCAA Division II and are playing a full PSAC schedule this fall but are not countable towards conference standings and NCAA playoff qualification metrics.
