MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – No. 17 Kutztown jumped out to a 3–1 lead in the first quarter but was held scoreless in the second half, falling 10–4 at Millersville on Wednesday night in the final game of the regular season.
Freshman
Gabriella Mina (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) opened the scoring for the Golden Bears (9–8, 6–6 PSAC East), netting her fifth goal of the season just 4:09 into the first quarter.
Olivia Eilbacher (Cherry Hill, N.J./Camden Catholic) added to the momentum with a goal off a free-position shot just over two minutes later. Although Millersville (10–6, 6–5 PSAC East) responded with a free-position goal of their own, Eilbacher struck again to close out the quarter, giving the Bears a 3–1 advantage heading into the second.
Millersville opened the second quarter with a goal just 1:20 in, then quickly won the draw control and scored again 11 seconds later to tie it at 3–3. Five minutes later, the Marauders took their first lead of the night, but Kutztown responded.
Marisa Bragg (Ringoes, N.J./Hunterdon Central) made a clutch save on the next possession, and the Bears took advantage—
Sam Graf (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) burying her 60th goal of the season to level the score once again.
Unfortunately for the Bears, Millersville found the back of the net again with 24 seconds remaining in the half. A ricocheted pass off a Marauder stick rolled in, sending Kutztown into the break trailing 5–4.
Emma Taylor (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) started the second half in goal for Kutztown, but Millersville quickly extended its lead with two goals in under two minutes, followed by another with 7:26 remaining in the third to make it 8–4. Kutztown called a timeout, and Bragg returned to the cage.
Despite a flurry of energy from the Bears—breaking up two Millersville clears and firing off four shots—they were unable to find the back of the net. A near-goal from
Alexis Plesic (Hanover, Pa./South Western) was scooped up by the Millersville goalie and ruled no goal, sending Kutztown into the fourth down by four.
The Marauders' first goal of the fourth quarter came with 8:49 remaining. After two green cards left Kutztown defending 5-on-7, Millersville capitalized to extend the lead to 9–4.
Summer Davis (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) created a key turnover and scooped up the ground ball to spark a chance for the Bears, but Graf's shot was saved—one of 14 saves on the night by Millersville, compared to seven for Kutztown. The Marauders added a final goal with 1:26 remaining, closing out the 10–4 win and holding the Bears scoreless in the second half despite 15 shot attempts from KU.
No. 17 Kutztown, currently ranked fourth in this week's 2025 NCAA Atlantic Region rankings, now awaits word on a potential postseason berth.
