KING'S POINT, N.Y. -- Matheson Bair (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) won the 100- and 500-yard freestyle events, while setting the seventh-best 500 free time in program history, as Kutztown University men's swimming concluded its regular season at the unscored USMMA Memorial Invite, Saturday.

Bair wasted no time making an impact, winning the first individual event of the meet. He topped 10 competitors, including his closest one by 8.5 seconds, to claim the 500 free in a personal best 4:48.66. The time was good for seventh in KU history and puts the Orwigsburg, Pa., native right outside the top five. Alex Heller in fifth (4:48.63), Rai Gundermann in sixth (4:48.64) and Bair are separated by just three-hundredths of a second.

Two events later, Bair secured his second win of the day in the 100 free. He swam a PSAC cut time of 47.85, narrowly missing out on KU's top 10 list by four-hundredths of a second. The freshman took runner-up honors in the 200 free (1:50.22), while anchoring the 400 free relay team to third in 3:24.52 along with Nigel Pizzo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North), RJ Otten (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) and Colby Orndorf (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin).

Otten also recorded another PSAC cut time in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:15.92 that placed him third of 10 swimmers.

Orndorf tied for third in the 200 backstroke (2:07.51) and Theo Miksa (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) was fifth in the 100 breast (1:03.46).

Saturday's meet provided swimmers one final opportunity to reach PSAC qualifying times ahead of the PSAC Championships later this month. Kutztown will travel to the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa., for the 2025 conference meet Feb. 17-20.
