KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Matheson Bair (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) set a new pool record and was one of a quartet of swimmers that earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying times Saturday evening as Kutztown men's swimming ended 2025 with a 165-95 victory over Arcadia inside Keystone Natatorium.
 
It is the second straight win for the Golden Bears.
 
Bair's time of 52.31 in the 100 Fly is a new Keystone Natatorium record and the second-fastest time in program history. He also netted a cut time in the 50 free of 21.99, winning both events. Andrew Pletz (Allentown, Pa./Parkland), Nevin Shaw (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and RJ Otten (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) also tallied PSAC times, with both Pletz and Otten doing it twice.
 
Pletz won both the 500 and 1000 free in times of 4:55.48 and 10:06.81, respectively, while Otten won the 200 fly in a time of 2:01.93 and placed second in the 100 fly with the eighth-fastest time in program history (53.37). Shaw won the 200 breast in a time of 2:14.31.
 
The 400 free relay team, consisting of Shaw, Reilly Jones (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury), Pletz and Bair capped the night with a first-place finish in a time of 3:18.47.
 
Kutztown is off until the new year and will next compete in the John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational and PSAC Last Chance Meet on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 12 p.m., hosted by IUP at Big Spring High School.
