GWYNN OAK, Md. – The Kutztown University bowling team wrapped up the fall portion of the schedule on Sunday, winning a pair of baker matches to finish sixth overall at the Lady Eagles Invitational, hosted by Coppin State University, at AMF Woodlawn Lanes this weekend.
Â
The Golden Bears (20-5 overall) were given a tough draw on the second day, facing No. 22 Felician and No. 14 Mount St. Mary's in consecutive matches. KU opened the morning with a win over host Coppin State (913-895) before falling in both of its ranked matchups, 899-883 and 1027-858, respectively. It managed to recover for a 781-717 win over Bowie State, but the home crowd willed the Eagles to a 4-2, best-of-seven baker match victory in a rematch of the opening baker contest.
Â
The Maroon and Gold wrap up the weekend with a 7-3 record, one that featured a perfect opening day in traditional play, and the program's 11th consecutive victory over Bowie State. The team also eclipsed multiple program marks with the conclusion of the first half of the season, winning 80 percent of games while finishing with just five losses, achieving both for the first time in the program's illustrious 18-year history.

The Golden Bear keglers hibernate for winter break, returning to the lanes to compete in the Northeast Classic at the Bowlerama in New Castle, Del., from Friday, Jan. 16, to Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026. The three day tournament hosted by Sacred Heart is among the biggest tournaments in the nation, attracting the top bowling programs from all three divisions, headlined by last year's tournament champion and current second ranked Nebraska, last year's NCAA Champion and current fourth ranked team in Youngstown State, and the third place team from a season ago in No. 6 Arkansas State.
