COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Kutztown women's swimming got back in the win column Saturday afternoon with a 157-105 victory at Ursinus.
 
Six different Golden Bears earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying times, including three that recorded multiple, led by Julia Kopcho (Pemberton, N.J./Camden Catholic), who had three PSAC cut times.
 
Kopcho won the 200 Free and 500 Free, along with the 200 IM, tallying qualifying marks in all three. Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township) finished with PSAC times in the 50 and 100 Free, while Sarah Zeminski (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) had hers in the 100 and 200 Fly. Others on the day include Phoebe Armes (Somerset, UK/Millfield School) in the 100 Back and both Tatum Rothermel (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) and Birta Smaradottir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) in the 200 Breaststroke.
 
The Maroon and Gold were victorious in 10 of the 14 events, including both relays. In the 200 Medley Relay, Armes, Rothermel, Zeminski and Soto touched the wall first at 1:53.02, and in the 400 Free Relay, Soto, Armes, Kopcho and Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium) came in first at 3:41.43.
 
Kutztown will now prepare for its annual big meet of the year, the three-day Franklin and Marshall Invitational next weekend, running from Friday-through-Sunday in Lancaster.
