KUTZTOWN, Pa. –
Zach Perta (Swoyersville, Pa./Holy Redeemer) made an impact on special teams and defense as No. 4 Kutztown defeated West Chester, 41-7, Saturday. With his successful day on the gridiron, Perta earned this week's PSAC East Special Teams Athlete of the Week, announced Monday.

Perta blocked his first career punt in the final minute of the first quarter. Teammate
Justin Gonzalez (Union, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) picked it up and returned it for a touchdown to put the Bears up 21-0. KU would block another punt later in the game, giving them two blocked punts in a game for the second time this season. The Golden Bears have also scored two touchdowns off blocked punts in 2025.
Â
Perta finished with five solo tackles on defense as KU held an opponent to seven points or fewer for the fifth time in eight games.
Â
Kutztown hosts East Stroudsburg on Saturday, Nov. 1. A win would clinch the PSAC East crown and a berth in the PSAC Championship game on Saturday, Nov. 15.
