MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Kutztown women's swimming trailed the entire meet against both teams in the tri-meet and finally got in front at the 200 IM, and it came down to the final relay. Kutztown was able to make it all the way back and defeat both East Stroudsburg and host Montclair State Saturday afternoon in Montclair, N.J.
 
The Golden Bears, who are still undefeated at 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC, were victorious over the Warriors 132.5-128.5 and over the Red Hawks 138-123.
 
KU got second and third place finishes vs ESU in the final event, the 400 Free Relay to win it and went first and second against MSU to win that meet.
 
Six different Golden Bears earned PSAC-Qualifying times, including Julia Kopcho (Pemberton, N.J./Camden Catholic), Sarah Zeminski (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East), Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township), Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium), Tatum Rothermel (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) and Birta Smaradottir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland).
 
The freshman Kopcho, swimming in her home state, showed out in front of the home fans as she completed three PSAC cut times in the 200 Free, 500 Free and 200 Individual Medley, claiming top-10 program marks in the latter two and winning all three. Her 5:13.65 in the 500 Free ranks eighth all-time in program history and her 2:13.26 in the 200 IM is ninth at KU.
 
Zeminski had two PSAC cut times in the 100 and 200 Fly, winning both events. Soto and Pease-Wingenter each earned qualifying times in the 50 Free and Rothermel and Smaradottir both had PSAC marks in the 200 Breast.
 
Kutztown returns home for its next meet, next Saturday, Nov. 1, when it hosts Bloomsburg and Edinboro in a PSAC tri-meet from Keystone Natatorium, beginning at 4 p.m.
