KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- Kutztown University women's swimming captured 10 event wins on its way to a 142-104 victory over PSAC foe Lock Haven on Saturday in its dual finale at the Keystone Natatorium.

Prior to the meet, the Golden Bears honored their four 2024-25 seniors: Olivia Bing (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North), Jaylin Calistro (Temple, N.H./Contoocook Valley Regional), Ainsley Fischer (Newark, Del./Delaware Military Academy) and Jade Ware (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area).

Bing opened the meet with the fast time of 11:34.52 in the 1000-yard freestyle to lead a 1-2-3 KU finish. Camryn Sedora (Chester, Md./Kent Island) was second (11:47.71) and Lorelei Grove (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) third (12:01.32).

Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township) swept the sprint freestyle races with a pair of PSAC cut times. she won the 50 free in 25.28 before taking the 100 free in 55.27 later in the meet. The 100 free marked the third time that KU claimed the top three spots in an event on the afternoon. Ryleigh Czerwinski (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) (57.08) held off classmate Kara Damico (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) (57.50) as the talented freshmen placed second and third respectively.

Kutztown's (4-6, 2-4 PSAC) remaining 1-2-3 finish came in the 100 backstroke where Czerwinski won in a PSAC qualifying time of 1:02.29 ahead of Pease-Wingenter (1:05.81) and Alexandra Wetzel (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) (1:10.48).

Phoebe Armes (Somerset, UK/Millfield School), Tatum Rothermel (Halifax, Pa./Halifax), Sarah Zeminski (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium) teamed up to win the 200 medley relay in 1:55.33. Following Soto's win the 50 free and the KU taking the 200 medley relay, Damico made it three straight event wins for the Maroon and Gold by capturing the 100 fly (1:02.64).

Calistro topped teammate Zeminski in a head-to-head battle to win the 200 fly (2:26.57), while Tatum Rothermel (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) (2:25.27) and Birta Smaradottir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) (2:35.84) posted the top times in the 200 back and 200 breast, respectively, despite swimming exhibition with the meet result already decided.

Kutztown's top 200 free relay of Damico, Soto, Armes and Pease-Wingenter also set the fast time of 1:41.57 in an exhibition swim.

The Golden Bears will head to the United States Merchant Marine Academy next Saturday to take part in the USMMA Memorial Invite before turning their focus to the 2025 PSAC Championships in late February.
