PHILADELPHIA – The 17th-ranked Kutztown University women's lacrosse team receive goals from 12 different players, including a game-high five from
Sam Graf (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills), to register an 18-7 non-conference win at Holy Family Saturday afternoon.

Another fast start for the Golden Bears was key as they overwhelmed the Tigers.
Madison Wenner (Marmora, N.J./Ocean City) scored 1:09 into the game and
Shannon Lake (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford),
Katie Yocum (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and
Lauren Lamorte (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) followed with goals in close succession to make it 4-0 before the game was five minutes old.

Graf added a pair of goals, including one a player down, and
Emma Meakim (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) scored during a player up situation to push Kutztown's (7-1) lead to 7-0 by the end of the first quarter. It continued a trend of fantastic opening period performances for the Maroon and Gold this season. Kutztown has now outscored its opponents 41-13 in the first quarter.

Brynn Axe (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) recorded her third goal of the year off a feed from Graf to make it 8-1 with 13:32 remaining in the first half and while the host Tigers got within 8-3 on goals from Rianna Shields and Tori Wolstenholme with 10:51 to go, Kutztown went on another big run to put the game out of reach.

Graf's 33rd goal of the season started a 7-0 run for KU that spanned the final 8:37 of the second quarter and more than half of the third. The All-American midfielder chipped in two more goals during the run, while
Lailah ElBouazzaoui (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan), Lake,
Alexis Plesic (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and
Sammy Ruwet (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) also scored for the Bears.

Maddie Wagner (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) tallied a late third quarter goal, with Yocum and
Kayla Brooks (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) scoring in the fourth for the visitors.

Graf surpassed KU hall of famer Jane Geyer for third on the program's career goals list and moved into a tie for second with fellow hall of famer Lisa Rawa at 129. Sarah Gabriele holds the record with 176 goals.

Kutztown outshot Holy Family 31-15 and were nearly perfect on clears, going 11-of-12. The Golden Bears also held the edge in ground balls (21-17) and draw controls (14-12).

Graf provided a game-high six draw controls,
Summer Davis (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) caused four turnovers and
Robin Spector (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) scooped up a team-high four ground balls, the last of which was the 100th of her career.

Supplementing six points from Graf (5g, 1a), Lamorte and Meakim each had four on a goal and three helpers. ElBouazzaoui (1g, 2a) and Lake (2g, 1a) registered three points apiece.

Marisa Bragg (Ringoes, N.J./Hunterdon Central) made six saves while playing the entire game in goal for her first victory of the season.

Kutztown now gears up for a ranked PSAC East showdown on the road against No. 2 and unbeaten West Chester on Wednesday, April 3, at 4 p.m.
