KUTZTOWN, Pa. – For the second season in-a-row, the Kutztown field hockey coaching staff was awarded the National Field Hockey Coaches Association DII Atlantic Region Coaching Staff of the Year award, announced earlier by the organization.

The KU staff includes 11th-year head coach
Marci Scheuing and assistant coaches
Amber Auchenbach,
Arianna Grays and
Breann Craley (York, Pa./Central York). The Golden Bears are co-winners with the Shippensburg staff.

Kutztown completed another historic season, finishing as the national runner-up, falling in an overtime thriller to Saint Anselm in the NCAA DII championship game on Sunday, Nov. 24, at Limestone University. It was the second straight season that the Maroon and Gold reached the championship game, winning the title in 2023.

The Golden Bears appeared in all 10 Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Polls during the 2024 season. Five student-athletes landed on All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference teams, including
Juliana Donato (Cedarville, N.J./Schalick) and
Sarah Gatehouse (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) on the First Team,
Erin Gonzalez (East Earl, Pa./Garden Spot) and
Danielle Panati (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) on the Second Team and
Grace Harrold (York, Pa./Central York) on the Third Team.

Kutztown finished the season 16-6 overall. It is the ninth straight season with 10-plus wins and the third in-a-row with 16-plus victories.
