Millard named PSAC East Special Teams Athlete of the Week following historic performance

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Junior kicker/punter, Nate Millard (Birdsboro, Pa./Daniel Boone), had a record-breaking performance in last Saturday's 24-0 win over Lock Haven for No. 5 Kutztown football and earned this week's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's Eastern Division Special Teams Athlete of the Week, announced Monday.

Millard had an historic game as he connected on a program-record 50-yard field goal late in the second quarter. It was a career-long for Millard and broke a 30-year KU record for the longest kick. Millard also had three punts, averaging 33 yards and is responsible for kickoff duties, finishing with five kickoffs, two of which went for touchbacks.

Millard is tied with West Chester's Sean Henry, who also drilled a 50-yarder this season, for the PSAC long for 2024. It was the first field goal attempt of the season thus far for Millard and just the second of his career in Maroon and Gold. He is 2-for-2 for his career, connecting on a 44-yard kick last season. The All-PSAC East punter from last season ranks eighth in the conference with an average of 41.1 yards per punt.

After back-to-back home games, the Golden Bears (6-0 overall, 3-0 PSAC East) hit the road for their first away contest in Oct., and will take on Shippensburg next Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m.
