MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Kutztown Women's Volleyball may have experienced tired legs Saturday afternoon, having gone to five sets the night before at West Chester. Â
Scores of the match were 25-20, 25-13 and 25-22 in favor of the Marauders (6-8 overall, 1-2 PSAC East). The Golden Bears (7-8, 0-3) are still searching for their first conference victory, falling just one set and a few points shy Friday night at West Chester.

Â
In the opening set, the Maroon and Gold erased an early 5-3 deficit and scored four straight points to go ahead 7-5. KU led by as many as six points twice, 16-10 and 17-11, but Millersville went on a run and ended the set by scoring 14 of the last 17 points overall. Similarly in the second set, the Golden Bears went on top early, leading 5-3, but the Marauders scored three in-a-row to take back the lead and then went on a 7-1 run to go ahead 13-7 and never looked back. The Marauders jumped out to a 6-1 advantage in the third set, but KU answered and took a 9-8 lead on a kill by Post. MU, however, recorded eight of the next nine points to go up 16-10 and then held on from a late KU rally in which the Golden Bears got to within just one (17-16) after a kill by Fialova. Millersville scored the next four and shut down the door late.
Â
Kutztown will now play four consecutive conference matches at home, beginning next weekend as it welcomes Shepherd next Friday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m., and then hosts Shippensburg the next day at 1 p.m. Both matches are inside Keystone Arena.
