KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown women's volleyball played its most complete match of the 2023 regular season in defeating Georgian Court in straight sets Monday night inside Keystone Arena. Scores of the match were 25-19, 25-16 and 25-17.

The Golden Bears (5-3 overall) won for the third time in-a-row and fourth time in the last five matches. They are an undefeated 2-0 at Keystone Arena.

Kutztown won in all statistical categories and rarely trailed in the three sets. KU finished with a .309 hit percentage compared to just .105 for the Lions (3-3). The Maroon and Gold had an advantage in overall kills (43-26), aces (10-5), blocks (8-5), assists (38-26) and digs (40-36).

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's East Division Athlete of the Week,
Sadie Doss (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg), finished with 19 kills and five digs.
Gabriela Fialova (Ledec nad Sazavou, Czech Republic/Sportovni Gymnazium Ludvika Danka) recorded 17 kills and six digs.
Cat Farole (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) dished out 21 assists.
Mallory Hoch (Zionsville, Pa./Southern Lehigh) led the defense with nine digs.

The Kutztown defense was stout all match long, especially at the net, led by
Julia Post (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) and
Anna Parmer (Firestone, Colo./Mead). Post finished with seven blocks and Parmer had four.

The Golden Bears never trailed in the opening set, staking to an 11-4 lead before finishing it off. They found themselves behind in the second set, 8-4 early and then 12-9 before rattling off 10 straight points behind the service of
Emma Stalsitz (Allentown, Pa./Parkland). It was back-and-forth for the opening 13 points of the third set before KU took a 7-6 advantage and spiked it to 15-6 with Farole at the forefront of the service.

Kutztown will head west this weekend for three matches in a span of two days, playing against PSAC opponents, in non-conference matches. KU will take on Gannon on Friday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m., and then will play Mercyhurst the following day at 10 a.m., and Edinboro at 3 p.m. All three matches will be played at the opposing school's campus.
