KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Junior
Emma Meakim (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) set a new program record for assists in a game and Kutztown women's lacrosse continued its perfect start to the 2023 season in defeating Lock Haven 18-6 Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game at Keystone Field.

The Golden Bears improved their record to 4-0 overall, the first time they've won their first four games since the 2017 season.

Meakim was a facilitator all day. Her eight assists is a KU record, two assists more than the previous mark of six, set by Lisa Rawa during the 1989 season. The Hatboro native also scored a goal in the third quarter to finish with nine points on the day, tied for second-most in a game in program history.

Olivia Eilbacher (Cherry Hill, N.J./Camden Catholic) recorded six points (two goals and four assists).
Lailah ElBouazzaoui (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) netted five goals for five points and
Sam Graf (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) tallied four goals for four points and won a team-high seven draw controls.

Kutztown was in charge of this one from the opening draw. KU led 9-1 after the opening quarter and scored 12 of the game's first 13 goals to put the contest into the mercy rule 4:46 into the second quarter.

The Bald Eagles (1-3) answered with three consecutive goals, two of which rounded out the second quarter and another began the third quarter to pull to within 12-4 with 14:19 left in the third. But the Maroon and Gold bounced back to net three straight to go back on top by double figures.

Morgan Hurd (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) and
Marissa Giancola (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) both scored their first goals of the season during the second half of action.
Shannon Lake (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) had two goals and
Kayla Brooks (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) added one for KU.

Three goalies saw action for the Golden Bears in the 60 minutes.
Jenna Blesson (Sparta, N.J./Lenape Valley Regional) started and played the entire first half, finishing with a season-high nine saves.
Marisa Bragg (Ringoes, N.J./Hunterdon Central) and
Fiona Henderson (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) both had one save and played the third and fourth quarters, respectively.

Kutztown gets back into Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference competition with a game at Shippensburg on Tuesday, March 14, at 4 p.m., before heading south for a game at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., on Friday, March 17.
