KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Five members of the Kutztown women's swimming team earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-qualifying times Saturday afternoon as Kutztown dropped a home meet to Kean University 171-90 in a non-conference meet inside Keystone Natatorium.
 
It was the last meet of the 2023 calendar year for the Golden Bears (5-3 overall), before ramping back up in 2024.
 
Gracie McKee (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown), Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape), Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium), Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township) and Birta Smaradottir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) all had PSAC cut times in their respective heats. McKee and Rodier both won two events, with the former placing first in the 100 Back and 100 Fly and the latter touching the line first in the 500 Free and 1000 Free. Pease-Wingenter and Soto earned their PSAC marks in the 50 Free, finishing second and third, respectively. Smaradottir had a cut time in the 200 Breast.
 
Kutztown's 'A' 200 Medley and 400 Free relay teams both finished second and Trinity Miller (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant) placed second in the 100 Free.
 
Kutztown returns to action in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in the new year as it travels to East Stroudsburg for a meet on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m.
