ERIE, Pa. -- The Kutztown University men's basketball team (1-8, 0-3 PSAC) struggled on the road Monday night, falling to No. 18/17 Gannon (9-0, 3-0 PSAC) 121-76 at the Highmark Events Center in Erie.
The Golden Knights proved worthy of their ranking right off the bat, going into the halftime break up 67-25 thanks to a near 60% shooting mark from the floor. KU found more rhythm in the second half, scoring a season-high 51 points while shooting 53% and 50% from beyond the arc.
Freshman Jaiden McGhee (Townsend, Del./Middletown) had the best game of his young college career, recording a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds in 22 minutes of action. Brendan Boyle (Allentown, Pa./Notre Dame) (13), Juju Pagan (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) (11), and Amir Cunningham (Middletown, Del./Middletown) (10) all ended in double figures. Boyle shot an impressive 4-of-5 from three-point range. The Golden Knights were led by Josh Omojafo, who netted 20 points.
KU will look to bounce back tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 19 on the road against Clarion. That game is set to tip off at 5 p.m.
