SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Following an emotional straight set victory in its last match against Millersville last weekend, the Kutztown women's volleyball team could not keep the momentum going, falling at Shepherd Friday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division match in Shepherdstown, W.Va.

The Golden Bears (10-16 overall, 3-10 PSAC East) lost by scores of 22-25, 15-25, 23-25.

Gabriela Fialova (Ledec nad Sazavou, Czech Republic/Sportovni Gymnazium Ludvika Danka) led the way for KU, finishing with a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. Both
Sadie Doss (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) and
Sarah Hess (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) tallied seven kills, with the former adding 11 digs and the latter adding one block.
Cat Farole (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) had 22 assists and eight digs.
Mallory Hoch (Zionsville, Pa./Southern Lehigh) led the defense with a team-high 13 digs and
Gianna Agosti (Nesquehoning, Pa./Marian Catholic) contributed 11 digs.

The Rams (14-13, 9-4) controlled action at the net, finishing with a .237 hit percentage, compared to KU's .016. The Maroon and Gold also hurt themselves with 27 attack errors, while Shepherd had just 11. The Rams also had a 39-29 advantage in kills overall.

Kutztown concludes its 2023 campaign tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 11, at Shippensburg for a 1 p.m., match.
