KUTZTOWN, Pa. –
Gracie McKee (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) set a new pool record in the 100 fly and, along with
Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) and
Birta Smaradottir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland), earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying times to highlight Kutztown women's swimming's 136-92 win over Cedar Crest Saturday afternoon inside Keystone Pool.
It was the first victory of the season for the Golden Bears.
McKee touched the finish line with a time of 56.52, setting the new Keystone Pool record by 2:17 over Kathrin Dumitru, who had the record since 2005. McKee was a part of the winning 200 medley relay team, along with
Camryn Sedora (Chester, Md./Kent Island),
Jade Ware (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) and
Azlynn Watkins (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland). Rodier won the 50 free with a PSAC cut time of 25.57 and Smaradottir finished first in the 200 breast at a PSAC time of 2:36.02.
Rachel Wood (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood) won the 1000 free,
Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium) placed first in the 100 and 200 back,
Tatum Rothermel (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) won the 100 breast and
Trinity Miller (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant) earned the victory in the 100 free to cap the KU victories.
Kutztown will next compete in a two-day, tri-meet with East Stroudsburg and California (Pa.) in two weeks. The teams will open the first day at East Stroudsburg on Friday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m., and then will return for day two at Keystone Pool the next day, beginning at noon.
