MANCHESTER, N.H. –
Sadie Doss (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) recorded double digit kills in back-to-back matches, but the Kutztown University women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Sunday afternoon in the final day of the Southern New Hampshire/Saint Anselm tournament in Manchester, N.H.

A day after splitting two matches on Saturday, the Golden Bears (1-3 overall) fell to D'Youville 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 23-25, 16-25) in the opener and then lost in straight sets to the host Hawks 3-0 (20-25, 16-25, 19-25).

Doss tallied 13 kills and 11 digs in the opening match and then added 11 kills and seven digs in the nightcap. Freshman
Adrianna Derstine (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) had a season-best and team-leading 15 kills in match one. A night after moving into ninth all-time in program history in career assists,
Lexi Morrow (Landisburg, Pa./West Perry) followed it up by combining for 42 assists (25 in the first match and 17 in the second).
Alandra Hasbrouck (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) totaled 20 assists on the day.

Kutztown held an 8-6 lead after seeing D'Youville open set one with four straight points. But then they scored five in-a-row and never trailed from there. KU pulled to within one at 17-16, but was unable to climb all the way back. The Maroon and Gold responded in the second set by squeezing past the Saints 25-22 but could not muster up another victory.

Saint Anselm, which entered the match undefeated at 4-0, showed why its won all of its matches to date and was never really troubled on its way to the win.

Kutztown plays inside Keystone Arena for the first time this season as it hosts Pace University this Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m.
