Golden Bears fall to Wilmington (Del.) 75-67

KUTZTOWN, Pa. --The Kutztown University men's basketball team (0-5) fell to Wilmington (3-3) 75-67 at Keystone Arena Wednesday night.

The Golden Bears and Wildcats went toe-to-toe during the entire contest, swapping the lead 15 times over the 60 minutes. A 7-0 run for Wilmington from the five to three-minute mark of the second half was the catalyst to pull away for the victory.

Wesley Butler (Reading, Pa./Reading) led the way for KU offensively with 19 points and four rebounds. Robert Tucker (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) registered another double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Kyle Whippen (Arlington,Va./Westfield), who missed the previous two games, had a solid showing with 11 points, five rebounds, and an assist. Kyree Generett (York, Pa./William Penn) also dished out a season-high six assists to go along with seven points.

The Wildcats ability to shoot the basketball ended up being the main difference in the game. Wilmington shot 47.7% from the floor, including a 60% mark in the second half, while KU shot 32.3%. The Golden Bears had a 45-35 rebounding advantage.

KU will see its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action this weekend, starting with a contest against Gannon on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Keystone Arena.
