CALIFORNIA, Pa. -- Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) won the 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and anchored the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay team as Kutztown went one-up, one-down for the second day in a row against California (Pa.) and East Stroudsburg in a tri-meet at California's Hamer Hall Natatorium Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears beat the Warriors 122-81, but fell to the host Vulcans by less than five points for the second time in less than 24 hours, 103-101.

The Maroon and Gold got into the win column two events into the meet when freshman Natasha Sheehy (Tempe, Australia/MLC School) won the 1,650 free by almost 30 seconds in a PSAC qualifying time of 18:41.96. It was the first of five PSAC cut times for Kutztown (4-3) on the day.

Rodier made it two victories in a row for the Bears when she took the 200 free and bested the PSAC time threshold with a 2:00.73. Teammate Ainsley Fischer (Newark, Del./Delaware Military Academy) was third at 2:10.91.

Gracie McKee (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) continued to shine in her disciplines with wins and PSAC cut times in the 200 individual medley (season-best 2:12.84) and 200 backstroke (2:09.23).

Sheehy, who swept the distance freestyle events Friday night, nearly did it again Saturday if not for her fellow freshman Rodier. It was Rodier who came out with the win in the 500 free in a PSAC time of 5:25.59, leading Sheehy (5:31.86) in a 1-2 for KU.

The duo made up half of Kutztown's winning 200 free relay team along with Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium) and Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township). It was an outstanding final event as each school's top relay team battled to the finish. The Golden Bears emerged with the victory in 1:42.86, but the three teams were separated by just 1.1 seconds.

KU returns to the Keystone Natatorium next Saturday, Nov. 5, to take on Milllersville. Meet time is 1 p.m.
