CALIFORNIA, Pa. -- Gracie McKee (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) and Natasha Sheehy (Tempe, Australia/MLC School) collected three-win nights, while Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium) was part of Kutztown's victories in both relay events as the Golden Bears split a tri-meet with host California (Pa.) and East Stroudsburg, Friday. KU defeated ESU, 114-90, and dropped a close battle with the Vulcans, 104-100.

McKee jumped up to second from seventh on KU's all-time top 10 list in the 400-yard individual medley, winning the event in a career-best 4:43.68. The senior from Boyertown, Pa., was the only swimmer to break one minute in the 100 backstroke, claiming the victory with her second PSAC qualifying cut of the meet in 59.66.

McKee teamed with Jade Ware (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area), Emily Francisco (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) and Pease-Wingenter to open the meet with a triumph in the 200 medley relay. Kutztown's (3-2) top team timed in at 1:55.85.

Sheehy dominated the distance freestyle events. She won the 1000 free and surpassed a PSAC cut once again with a time of 10:57.41, more than 17 seconds ahead of runner-up Madison Moretti from California (Pa.). In the 500 free, Sheehy bested second-place Moretti by over nine seconds with a PSAC qualifying time of 5:24.17.

The talented freshman from Tempe, Australia, swam the third leg of the 400 free relay as the Golden Bears closed the meet with their sixth win of the night. Pease-Wingenter led off and was followed by Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township), Sheehy and anchor Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape). The Golden Bears finished in 3:43.26, holding off the hard-charging Vulcans by a second and a half.

In addition to its victories, Friday, KU got second-place finishes from Rodier in the 200 free (2:00.34) and Pease-Wingenter in the 50 free (26.05).

Kutztown will face off against the same two teams in the same location Saturday at noon.
