Golden Bears excel in all facets in 30-point victory over Mansfield

MANSFIELD, Pa - The Kutztown University women's basketball team had a complete performance against Mansfield, with the largest margin of victory of the season, winning by 30 points, 74-44, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division game on the road Wednesday night. The Golden Bears took a lead early and never looked back, outscoring Mansfield in all but one quarter.

Three different players on Kutztown's roster scored double digit points, led by Naia Pulliam (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) and Abbey Hearn (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) with 13 apiece. Alexis Smith (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin) rounded out the leading scorers with 12 points, all of her points coming from beyond the arc shooting 80 percent from three-point territory.

Casey Remolde (Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Basil Academy) packed the stat sheet leading the team with six assists while adding eight points to the offensive effort. Defensively, the Philadelphia native tallied four steals and three blocks in the competition, while also grabbing ten rebounds.

The Golden Bears (17-4 overall, 10-2 PSAC) had a tremendous amount of success early in the game, more than doubling Mansfield's point total before half. Heading into the third quarter Kutztown led 42-20, the Mountaineers were able to muster up their best effort of the game matching the Golden Bears with 13 points. Kutztown would put the game further out of reach in the third with their lead growing to 30 points by the final whistle.

Kutztown's offense was extremely efficient throughout the game, shooting over 50 percent in the matchup. With their best effort coming in the second quarter where they scored 22 points shooting nearly 72 percent from the floor. It was a different story for Mansfield, the Golden Bears held their offense to a season low 23.7%.
