INDIANA, Pa. -- The Kutztown University women's tennis team fell to IUP 7-0, Friday, in the first of two weekend matches against PSAC West foes.
The Golden Bears didn't travel with a full lineup, foregoing third doubles and fifth and sixth singles.
IUP (1-0) seized control in doubles with a 6-0 win at No. 2 from Natasha Munday and Joanna Stralka and a 6-1 triumph by its top duo of Karolin Kirchtag and Katy Graydon.
Brianna Wendling (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) won a pair of games at third singles for KU (0-2), while teammate
Claudia Makarski (Garfield, N.J./Paramus Catholic) took one game off Kirchtag at No. 1, but the Crimson Hawks produced clean sweeps at No. 2 and No. 4 en route to four straight set wins.
Kutztown will wrap up its fall season Saturday morning at 10 a.m. when it faces Seton Hill in Latrobe.
