TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON, N.J. -- Kalena Grey (Reading, Pa./Reading) collected her first career collegiate win and
Amanda Grebosky (Reisterstown, Md./Mount de Sales Academy) was also victorious as the Kutztown University women's tennis team closed its fall schedule with a 5-2 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas indoors at the Washington Township Tennis & Fitness Club Tuesday.
Grey came from behind to defeat Anna Ristova 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 in a super tiebreaker at sixth singles to gain the Golden Bears (1-4) one of their two points on the afternoon.
Grebosky led 3-2 in her opening set against Sofia Shutko, before Shutko retired. The win was Grebosky's second in a row.
The Spartans (10-4) had success in doubles, sweeping all three matches and carrying a 1-0 lead into singles. Four straight set victories in a row from Ayesha Burnett (No. 5), Carla Mentrup (No. 2), Katarina Lopez (No. 4) and Cassandra Rohr (No. 3) helped STAC clinch the victory before Grey secured KU's final point.
