ALTOONA, Pa. -- The 25th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team avenged an opening round loss to Felician, rallying from 3-1 down to defeat the Golden Falcons, 4-3, in their best-of-7 match-up for fifth place at the Red Flash Invitational on Sunday.
The Golden Bears suffered a 4-0 sweep against Felician in the first round of double elimination Baker format bracket play, but got another shot at the Golden Falcons after disposing of Penn State Altoona in four straight games.
After producing a pair of 200+ games during its sweep of the Lady Lions, Kutztown (44-45) kept the momentum going with a 205 in the opening game in the fifth-place match against Felician.
The Golden Falcons would take the next three, however, leaving KU no margin for error. The Golden Bears pulled out tightly contested 176-164 and 152-146 wins in games five and six. They completed the comeback with a decisive 202-158 victory in game seven.
Sophomore
Keanna Delp (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) recorded a team-high 20.5 frame average, while playing in 30 frames.
