WORCESTER, Mass. – After building a 26-point lead in the first half, Kutztown University's
Craig Reynolds (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) scored his second touchdown of the day and the game-winner in the final two minutes to give the Golden Bears a 32-28 upset win over No. 17 Assumption University Saturday afternoon in non-conference action from Assumption's Multi-Sport Stadium.

Kutztown (1-0) controlled the first half with a 26-0 lead, including three touchdowns by quarterback
Collin DiGalbo (Secane, Pa./Monsignor Bonner). The nationally-ranked Greyhounds (0-1), a returning NCAA Tournament team, responded with 28-unanswered points to take a 28-26 lead on their home turf with 3:38 to play.

Following Assumption's go-ahead score, Reynolds gave KU solid field position with a 36-yard kick return to setup KU at its own 41-yardline. DiGalbo found three different receivers, including a 26-yard strike to senior captain
Conor Sullivan (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), to put KU in the redzone. Pass interference on Assumption set KU up inside the 5, and Reynolds followed with a 3-yard touchdown run on 1st-and-Goal to give KU a 32-28 lead with 1:55 to play.

Shawn Turber-Ortiz (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy), KU's team-leader with six interceptions last year, forced Assumption's first turnover of the game the ensuing possession. He picked off the Greyhounds in Kutztown-territory to give KU the ball inside two minutes.

Assumption used its timeouts to force KU to punt, but the defense held its ground one final drive to cap the upset victory.

It marked Kutztown's first-ever win over Assumption, as the teams have met the last four season-openers.

Reynolds, who missed the final three games of last season due to injury, started his senior year with 107 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns. Including the game-winner late, Reynolds also ran for a 77-yard touchdown in the first half. It was the longest run of his career and KU's longest since a school-record 98-yard run by Terry Williams in 2015.

Notably, Reynolds tied Williams for sixth in school history with 22 career rushing touchdowns. He now needs 65 yards for 2,000 in his career and also moved into fifth in school history in career all-purpose yards.

DiGalbo threw for 298 yards, threw one touchdown and ran for two more. He connected with eight different receivers, including seven completions to Sullivan for a career-high 133 yards – Sullivan's first career 100+ yard game.

Mason McElroy (Reading, Pa./Wilson) caught four passes,
Amadou Barry (Upper Darby, Pa./West Catholic Prep) hauled in a 52-yard touchdown catch and
Ryan Hubley (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) caught a 51-yard pass.

Turber-Ortiz led KU with nine tackles, including six solo stops and the late interception.
Jake Perry (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and
Luke Snyder (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) followed with seven tackles, while
Nick Palmer (Montville, N.J./Bergen Catholic),
Nick Vasger (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) and
Togba Porte II (Collingdale, Pa./Academy Park) all followed with six tackles apiece.

Kutztown returns to action next week for its home-opener. KU hosts California University (PA) on Saturday, Sept. 8, at University Field at Andre Reed Stadium beginning at 12:05 p.m.
