KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Claire Frank (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) of the Kutztown University women's swimming team claimed an individual victory and a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-new qualifying time in the 100-back to highlight KU swimmers in its tri-meet with Misericordia University and East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon at Keystone Pool.
As a team, KU defeated PSAC-foe East Stroudsburg, 138-114, but fell just short to Misericordia, 136-120, splitting their first two duals of the season.
Frank, along with the 200-Medley relay team of Frank,
Charlotte Owens (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg),
Carley Wise (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) and
Katerina Parowski (Altoona, Pa./Altoona), and the 200-Free relay team of Parowski,
Keelie Walker (York, Pa./York Suburban),
Emmarose DeCaro (Apex, N.C./Apex) and
Alison McLaughlin (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) all had first-place performances for the Golden Bears.
Lindsay Brenneman (Dover, Pa./Dover), Frank, McLaughlin, Walker, Parowski and
Brigid Grant (Southampton, Pa./Archbishop Wood) helped give KU top-three finishers in 12-of-14 events on the day.
Kutztown next hits the pool against PSAC opponent Lock Haven University on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. at Keystone Pool.
