KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The 19th-ranked Kutztown University football team scored 41 first-half points, the most this season, and enjoyed a scoring outburst from both sides of the ball in a 41-0 win over Lock Haven University Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action at Andre Reed Stadium to highlight Kutztown's Homecoming weekend.

The Golden Bears (6-0 overall, 3-0 PSAC East) are off to their best record to start a season since they began the 2010 season 9-0. Dating back to last season, the Maroon and Gold have now won eight consecutive games. KU has now clinched its fifth straight winning season, the most in program history dating back to the streak of four straight from 1936-1939.

The win over the Bald Eagles (1-6, 1-2) is also the 100th career victory for head coach
Jim Clements. He has 34 wins at the helm for Kutztown.

It is the first shutout of the season for Kutztown.

Josh Lee (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington (Thaddeus Stevens)) had two catches, including a 19-yard touchdown catch from DiGalbo in the second quarter.

The Kutztown defense played with fire today, forcing six Lock Haven turnovers (three fumbles, three interception) and allowing a goose egg on the scoreboard. It helped in the KU offensive 41-point first half as the offensive unit scored 27 of its points off turnovers.
Jake Perry (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) had an interception that he returned for a 30-yard touchdown with 0:03 left in the second quarter, just 0:37 after Lee's touchdown grab, to cap off the scoring output on the day. Perry is seventh on the all-time career interceptions list at KU.

29 different KU defenders recorded at least one tackle. The unit was led by
Shawn Turber-Ortiz (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy), who finished with nine total tackles and an interception.

Ahkee Cox-Cowan (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) also had a pick for KU.

DiGalbo and Reynolds each found the end zone on the ground in the first quarter to stake the Golden Bears to a 13-0 lead after one quarter, but the game did not turn in their favor until the second quarter outburst.
