BROOKVILLE – The Kutztown University women's swimming team dropped its final dual match of the season, 115-126, at LIU Post on Saturday afternoon.
 
Kara Jones (Greencastle, Pa./James Buchanan) won KU's lone event on the day with an existing Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) time of 2:21.08 in the 200-fly. She was then out-touched by just .03 in the 100-fly with yet another PSAC time of 1:02.30, but was awarded winning points as LIU Post declined team scoring in the event.
 
Three Golden Bears set new PSAC times on Saturday. Linnea Pierson (Green Township, N.J./Newton) was right behind Jones in the 200-fly in 2:21.97, while Bridget Perdoch (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) and Olivia Kieley (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) touched in 18:48.13 and 19:24.99, respectively, in the 1650-free.
 
Claire Frank (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) set two existing PSAC times on the day as she won the 200-IM in 2:17.56 when LIU Post declined team scoring. Her other qualifier came in the 100-back, as she finished third with a time 1:02.57.
 
LIU also declined team scoring in the 500-Free and 200-Free Relay, allowing Katerina Parowski (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) to win the former in 5:40.59. Parowski was also a part of the 200-free relay team with Perdoch, Gab Louden (Crum Lynne, Pa./Ridley) and Meredith Heydt (Allentown, Pa./Salisbury (Lehigh Carbon CC)), that combined to finish in 1:47.49.
 
Kutztown will get one final tune-up for the PSAC Championships next Saturday, Feb. 4 at the ESU Invitational.
