Complete Game Notes

SERIES HISTORY:
Saturday marks the first-ever meeting between Kutztown and Seton Hill. Seton Hill joined the PSAC in football in 2013 after competing in the WVIAC prior. The Griffins have gone 3-8 the past two seasons, but are off to a 2-0 start in 2016. Notably in 2015, Seton Hill shocked eventual PSAC Champion Slippery Rock in the regular season, 41-38 (Full Recap).

LAST WEEK: KU led in first downs (20-13) and nearly doubled Mercyhurst in total yardage (390-170) last week, but Mercyhurst used three blocked punts to earn a 23-19 comeback win over Kutztown in KU's home-opener at Andre Reed Stadium.

SACK LUNCH: Kutztown tallied eight sacks in its loss last week to Mercyhurst. Led by senior defensive lineman Chris McMonagle (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan)'s game-high 2.5 sacks, the defense piled up eight sacks on the night – the most for the program since it had nine on Sept. 6, 1997 against West Virginia Wesleyan.

WINNING ALL THE STATS, BUT ONE: While putting up the most sacks in 20 years last week against Mercyhurst, Kutztown unfortunately also suffered another 20-year first. Mercyhurst's 170 yards of total offense are the fewest for an opponent in a win over Kutztown in the last 20 years, through the 1997 season.

THE REYNOLDS RAP: R-So. Craig Reynolds (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) is coming off a career-high 144 yards and a touchdown against Mercyhurst. He ran for nearly two-thirds of Kutztown's 196 rushing yards – the 10th straight 100-yard rushing game for Kutztown. Reynolds ranks seventh in the PSAC, 23rd in Division II, at 174.0 all-purpose yards per game. Notably, he ranks third in the PSAC at 6.89 yards-per-carry, and fifth in punt return yardage at 10.0.

PART-IN ME: R-So. Troy Parton (Allentown, Pa./Salisbury) hauled in a career-high 15 catches last week against Mercyhurst, a career-high and two shy of tying the school-record. He jumped up to second in the PSAC at 9.5 receptions per game.

LOOKING FOR FIRST WIN: Kutztown and Lock Haven are the final two PSAC teams looking for their first wins of the season.

BRACKET BUSTERS: In last week's loss to Mercyhurst, head coach Jim Clements suffered two firsts at KU. Clements is now 8-1 at KU when holding opponents to less than 100 rushing yards, and 10-1 when holding opponents to 24 or fewer points.

BLOCKING THE BLOCKERS: Kutztown had three of its punts blocked by Mercyhurst last week, including one for a touchdown. It was the first blocked punt for a TD against KU since 2005. Across all NCAA divisions, KU's four blocked punts allowed are the most in the NCAA this season.

MAGIC NUMBER = 24: KU head coach Jim Clements is 10-1 in his Kutztown career when holding opponents to 24 or fewer points.

MOVING FORWARD: Kutztown has rushed for 100 or more yards in 10 straight games, dating back to 2015. Under head coach Jim Clements, KU is 11-5 when rushing for triple-digit yardage.

PROTECT THE FOOTBALL: KU ranks third in the PSAC with two committed turnovers this season.

DEFENSE LOOKING STRONG: Kutztown's defense ranks second in the PSAC this year in total defense (326.0), passing defense (191.5) and sacks (4.50).

STOPPING THE RUN: KU's success under second-year head coach Jim Clements has stood true with its defensive ability to stop the run. Under Clements, KU is 8-1 when holding its opponent to less than 100 yards rushing.

KELLEN'S CORNER: Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg), a two-time All-PSAC East wide receiver, co-leads the PSAC this season with three receiving touchdowns. He has three double-digit catch games in his career, seven 100-yard receiving performances, and has caught a pass in 30-of-34 career games.

LEAVING A LEGACY: Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) has a chance to rewrite the KU record books in his senior season. He ranks second all-time at KU with 25 career receiving touchdowns and 2,217 receiving yards, and fifth with 161 catches.

SEASONED VETERANS: Offensive linemen Jordan Morgan (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Northwest), Ben Cregger (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove), Brian Robbins (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and Skyler Panchari (Pottsville, Pa./Blue Mountain) are all returning starters. Combined, they have played in 109 career games.

STARTING CENTER: Junior Ben Cregger (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) has made 24 consecutive starts at center for Kutztown.

TEAM CAPTAINS: Kutztown's team captains for the 2016 season are Zack Delp (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), Jordan Morgan (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Northwest) and Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg).

PASS ATTACK: Dating back to 2011, Kutztown has thrown 30 or more pass attempts in 37 of its last 45 games (82.2 percent).

STARTING QB: Terence Scanlon (Middletown, N.J./Red Bank Regional (Rutgers)) played in his first collegiate game this year as KU's starting quarterback. A transfer graduate student previously from Monmouth and most-recently Rutgers, Scanlon is averaging 185.5 yards and has thrown four touchdowns (sixth in the PSAC), three of which going to Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg).

SENIOR RB DUO: Senior running backs Darrell Scott (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) and James Wah Jr. (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) are in the midst of their senior seasons. Having split carries for most of their careers, the duo has combined for 2,433 career rushing yards and 21 touchdowns to go along with 59 combined games of experience.

DEFENSIVE LEADER: Zack Delp (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) has made 25 consecutive starts at linebacker for KU. A two-time All-PSAC selection, Delp has notched 10 or more tackles in 10 games in his career, including last week vs. Mercyhurst. He ranks 16th all-time at KU with 222 career tackles and 14th at KU with 12.5 sacks.

SENSATIONAL SOPHOMORE: Tajier Jefferson (East Orange, N.J./Queen of Peace), the returning PSAC East Freshman of the Year, leads KU with 18 tackles this season. He has three career 10+ tackle games. Last year, he had 70 tackles in his first year on the field, the most by a KU freshman in more than 20 years, and ranked in the top-five in the PSAC with 16 TFL.
