READING, Pa. - The 15th-ranked Kutztown University women's bowling team picked up wins in five of its six matches on Saturday, Feb. 13, in the Golden Bear Classic at the Bowl-O-Rama.

Kutztown (56-32) started off Saturday with wins in each of its first four matches before splitting its final two. KU began the day with wins over Daemen (913-744), Franklin Pierce (1032-879), Salem International (861-628) and Morgan State (1074-885).

The Golden Bears suffered their lone setback of the day in a closely-contested 1013-1009 loss at the hands of Sacred Heart. KU bounced right back with a victory in its final match of the day against Felician, 934-842.

Kutztown is tied with Sacred Heart for the top record so far through two days of competition at 9-2. Caldwell and St. Francis (N.Y.) are both 8-3 through two days and Franklin Pierce is at 7-4. The Golden Bears also have the highest total pinfall out of any team in the field with 10,426 through its 11 matches.

KU continues action at the Golden Bear Invitational on Sunday morning, Feb. 14, at 8:25 a.m. as it gets a chance to avenge its loss against Sacred Heart. Sunday will feature a bracket-style tournament unlike the previous two days of competition.
