KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's basketball team outscored Bowie State in the second half, but a sluggish start was insurmountable for the Golden Bears in their 61-42 setback Wednesday night in non-conference action at Keystone Arena.

Kelsey Watson (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) scored 14 of her team-high 16 points in the second half, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Sierra Taylor (Williamstown, N.J./Camden Catholic) aided in the effort with seven of her 10 points in the second half in 38 minutes of action.
A 1-for-11 opening quarter put the Golden Bears behind the 8-ball that they couldn't bounce back from. The halftime deficit was 30-10 for KU, who went on to outscore the Bulldogs 32-31 in the second half.
Off the bench,
Karen Lapkiewicz (Southampton, Pa./Saint Basil Academy) provided season-highs of four points and six rebounds.
