KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swimming team won nine events in Saturday's home-opener vs. Cedar Crest College, led by Kara Jones (Greencastle, Pa./James Buchanan) winning three events, to highlight Kutztown's 110-76 dual meet victory.
 
Jones won two individual events and was part of the meet-opening 200-medley relay. She won the 50-fly (28.85) and 200-free (2:02.90) for a perfect 3-for-3 in her Saturday events.
 
Three Golden Bears won two events apiece. Katerina Parowski (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) won the 50-free in an existing conference-qualifying time of 25.58 seconds and was also part of the 200-medley relay team that finished in 1:55.55. She also posted an existing conference time in a second-place finish in the 100-free.
 
Claire Frank (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) won the shortened 100-IM in 1:01.70 and posted a new conference mark in the 100-free of 55.57 seconds in her victory.
 
Madi Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) led three Golden Bears in the 50-back with an event win in 28.88, while also swimming leadoff of the winning 200-medley relay team.
 
Bridget Perdoch (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) was the fourth member of the winning relay, as Olivia Kieley (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) rounded out KU's winners on Saturday, touching first in the 1000-free in 12:24.78.
 
Carley Wise (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) posted second-place finishes in the 50-free and 50-fly, while Gab Louden (Crum Lynne, Pa./Ridley) (200-free) and Linnea Pierson (Green Township, N.J./Newton) (100-IM) also posted second-place swims.
 
Kutztown returns to action in 2017, with its annual trip to Florida. It will compete in the Invite by the Sea meet on Saturday, Jan. 7.
