KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Freshman Claire Frank (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) posted her team-leading fifth conference-qualifying mark of the season on Saturday to highlight the Kutztown University women's swimming team's home tri-meet against LIU Post and Millersville University at Keystone Pool.
 
KU dropped both matches in the tri-meet with a 131-121 setback to Millersville and a 151-98 loss to LIU Post.
 
Prior to Kutztown's home-finale, lone senior Sam Scialpi (West Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area) was honored for Senior Day.
 
Frank finished third in the 200-free in a season-best time of 2:01.96, a new Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-qualifying mark. A freshman, Frank also won Kutztown's lone individual event of the day. She won the 200-IM in a season-best mark of 2:17.12.
 
The Golden Bears closed the day with a winning effort in the 400-free relay. Alexis Cable (Thomasville, Pa./Spring Grove (Mansfield)), Gab Louden (Crum Lynne, Pa./Ridley), Madi Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) and Sam Scialpi (West Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area) won the final event in 3:53.99.
 
Kara Jones (Greencastle, Pa./James Buchanan) finished second in the 200-fly, only trailing LIU Post's Joyce Kowk, who set the pool record on Saturday. Kwok, a defending national champion, also set a pool record in the 200-back. Kutztown's Jones also finished second in the 100-fly in 1:03.18.
 
Kutztown wraps up its regular season on Saturday. Feb. 6 at the East Stroudsburg Invitational.
