HTML Box Score

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Senior Advia Campbell surpassed a career milestone on Saturday afternoon, leading the fourth-seeded Kutztown University women's basketball team past fifth-seeded Lock Haven University in the First Round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoffs from Keystone Arena, 74-52.

With 12:22 remaining in the second half, Campbell converted two-straight free throws to reach 1,000 points for her career, becoming the 14th Golden Bear to do so in program history. She notched her third-consecutive double-double and eighth of the season, scoring a career-high-tying 21 points and bringing down a game-high 15 rebounds. Campbell was perfect from the charity stripe (7-of-7), while recording three blocks, two assists, and a steal in 37 minutes of action.

Kutztown (12-15) set the tone early with an 11-2 run to start the game and would go on to dominate the first half. KU forced Lock Haven (11-16) into 14 first-half turnovers and its smothering defense resulted in LHU shooting 8-for-26 from the field. Another 13-2 swing for KU in the closing minutes of the first stanza gave the home team a 16-point lead heading into the locker room.

The Lady Eagles owned the floor at the onset of the second period however, firing off a 16-4 run of their own to cut Kutztown's lead to four points (38-34). Once Campbell cleared the momentous landmark, the Maroon and Gold were able to find their rhythm and regain the momentum.

With 6:14 to play and leading by eight, Kutztown converted 13 free throws to build a 19-0 run that would give KU a 26-point cushion. The Lady Eagles shot 0-for-13 from the field during the four-minute stretch, and a combined 14 points from Natalya Lee and Elisa Gaffney secured the victory for the Maroon and Gold.

Lee and Gaffney each finished the game in double figures for Kutztown and combined for nine rebounds. Gaffney notched 16 points for her third-consecutive double-digit scoring performance. Lee tallied 13 points for her fifth double-digit game in the last six, adding on five assists and a game-high five steals.

Alyssa Bonenberger finished with eight points and six rebounds while Kelsey Watson chipped in six points with a career-high-tying five assists. Nicole Donahue contributed six points and three boards off the bench.

Lock Haven was led by Marrysa Moyer and J.J. Hilliard with 16 points each. Moyer completed the double-double with 11 rebounds and swiped three steals. Sami Lane led her squad with four steals and combined with Hilliard for six of the team's 10 assists.

With the win, the Golden Bears advance to the PSAC Quarterfinals for the third-consecutive postseason, but have been unable to reach the semifinals since 2010. KU will head to Bloomsburg University on Tuesday, Mar. 3 to face the top-seeded Huskies at 7 p.m. Bloomsburg won both of the matchups during the regular season.
