CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swimming team wrapped up its tri-meet on Saturday, falling to East Stroudsburg University, 264-132, and California University of Pennsylvania, 260-120.
 
The Golden Bears (1-3) had a handful of swimmers unable to compete due to injury this weekend, but recorded several outstanding individual performances.
 
Sophomore Madi Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) won the 100-back in a season-best 1:02.08. Freshman Claire Frank (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) was KU's other individual event winner, taking the 500-free with a time of 5:28.54.
 
Frank also placed third in the 100-free (57.48), fourth in the 400-individual medley (2:20.62), and fourth in the 200-individual medley (5:03.27).
 
Kara Jones (Greencastle, Pa./James Buchanan) repeated a PSAC-cut performance this season with a time of 2:21.30 in the 200-fly. Katerina Parowski (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) recorded a second-place finish after swimming the 200-free in 2:03.96. She also touched third in the 200-back (2:19.41).
 
The quartet of Bleiler, Jones, Suzanne Selman (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and Parowski swam the 400-medley relay in 4:20.81 and placed third.
 
Kutztown returns home on Saturday, Nov. 14 to take on Juniata at 1 p.m. at Keystone Pool.
