Women's Basketball Matches up with Millersville on Tuesday Night

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's basketball team heads to Millersville University on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m. for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup held inside Pucillo Gymnasium.
 
Kutztown (4-1, 2-1 PSAC) goes into the matchup on a two-game winning streak, defeating Chestnut Hill and Penn State Lehigh Valley last week. Millersville (2-3, 0-3) will be looking for its first conference win of the season. The Marauders won their last game, a 72-66 win over Lincoln on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Golden Bears and Marauders split the season series last year with one win each. Millersville won the first matchup of the season in December of 2014, a 71-58 decision, while Kutztown was victorious in the last matchup between the two teams, a 58-54 win in February of 2015.
 
Kutztown currently leads the PSAC in scoring offense at 76.6 points per game and scoring margin at 16.6. KU is also third in the conference in scoring defense, allowing an average of 60.0 points per game thus far. The Golden Bears are first in the PSAC with 44.4 rebounds per game and a 5.80 turnover margin.
 
Junior forward Kelsey Watson (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) leads Kutztown in both scoring and rebounding. She is averaging 17.6 points per game (5th in PSAC) and 7.2 rebounds per game (T-12th in PSAC). Watson is shooting 58 percent from the field and leads the team with nine blocks to go along with nine steals.
 
Natalya Lee (Feasterville, Pa./Rancocas Valley Regional) has been a great all-around performer for KU in the early parts of the season. She is second on the team with 15.6 points per game (T-9th in PSAC), first in assists with 4.8 per game (T-6th in PSAC), second in three pointers (7) and second in steals (10).
 
Junior guard Jenna Altomare (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) is averaging 14.0 points per game and an impressive 3.0 three pointers per game, which leads the PSAC. She is also averaging 4.2 rebounds per game and leads the team with 2.2 steals per game (T-5th in PSAC).
 
Gina Lewis (Atlantic City, N.J./Holy Spirit) has started in two of her five appearances and is second on the team with 5.4 rebounds per game. Junior guard Kara Funk (Dover, Pa./Dover) is second on the team with 3.4 assists per game, while freshman forward Mariah Maciejewski (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) has been a key contributor off the bench, averaging 5.0 points and 4.8 rebounds.
 
Millersville is led by Celeste Robinson, who is averaging 14.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Shelby Reimer is averaging 12.8 points a game, while Yasmin Cooper is averaging 11.6 points and a team-best 11.0 rebounds per game.
 
Kutztown will look for its first 5-1 start since the 2008-09 season when the team started 7-0 and finished with a 21-7 overall record.
